Sandra Pinkston, a vibrant spirit, was born on July 25, 1956, in the warm embrace of Miami, Oklahoma. She breathed her last on October 29, 2024, at her cherished home, surrounded by the love she so deeply cultivated throughout her life.

For over a decade, Sandra donned the mantle of a home health nurse, a profession that beautifully echoed her inherent compassion and caring nature. Each day, she walked into the homes of others with a heart full of love, offering not just medical assistance but a genuine warmth that enveloped all those fortunate enough to meet her. She embodied a spirit of service, often sacrificing her own comforts to ensure her family never faced hardship. Her legacy is etched in the memories of the countless lives she touched with her nurturing demeanor and kindness.

Her personality sparkled like the notes of her favorite jazz melodies, a sound that resonated through her home and heart. Sandra exuded a spunky charm, wrapped in an overabundance of love and forgiveness. She was unwaveringly compassionate, always ready to lend an ear or a helping hand. She delighted in the simple joys of life, like the rich colors of purple that reflected her vibrant essence, and she reveled in the time spent with her beloved family and animals.

Sandra's proudest moments were woven through the fabric of her family. She is survived by her spouse, Durl "Wayne" Pinkston, and her siblings, Tommy Dunn and Mary Sue Butler, alongside her four beloved children: her sons, Patrick "Pedro" Smith, Jeremiah Smith and his wife, Shannon, Joshua Craig and his wife, Jamie, and daughter Laurie Douglass and her husband Scott. Her heart swelled with pride for her grandchildren: Kaytlin and Cameran Smith, Keely Craig and Ryan Sheldon, Jared Pinkston, and Meagan and Wyatt Douglass, each carrying a piece of her legacy forward.

Though her heart ached with the loss of her own family members—father Clarence Rundell, Mother Faye Rundell, sister Joyce Dernovish, and brother Gary Rundell—she remained a pillar of resilience, triumphing over adversity as a three-time cancer survivor. Each battle she fought was met with unwavering strength, embodying the very essence of her life’s philosophy: to live fully and love fiercely.

Sandra Pinkston leaves behind an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her, a true testament to a life lived with passion and purpose. Her spirit continues to dance to the rhythm of jazz in a purple sky, forever lifting those around her, echoing the love she so generously gave.
