Kenneth Cole

September 19, 1948 - August 20, 2025

Obituary

Kenneth Darwin Cole, age 76, of Texarkana, TX, went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2025. Born on September 19, 1948, to Grover Cole Sr. and Elda Rupert, he lived a full life surrounded by faith, family, and the things he loved most.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, DeLinda; his son, Darren Cole; his parents; and his brothers, Grover Cole Jr., Bruce Cole, and Randy Carroll.

He leaves behind his daughters, Kimberly (Jose) Hernandez and Alicia Cole; his siblings, Gerald Cole, R. Jake Carroll, and Pam Cole; grandchildren, Kendall Hernandez, Grayson, and Lanin Cole, Crystal Cole, Chris Cole, Cayla Cole, Cecil Cole, Paige, and Nathan Cole; as well as many great-grandchildren and a host of others who loved him dearly.

He was a proud U.S. Marine, a skilled tradesman, and a mentor to many. But more than anything, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who found joy in fishing, tending his garden, and watching his hummingbirds. He had a strong love for God and Loved others with all of his heart, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and love.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Dad had just planted some marigold seeds, then ended up in the hospital for a couple weeks. He asked me to water his plants daily, etc. I diligently watered and cared for his plants. The day he came home, we sat outside having our coffee. He looked at his plants and grinned real big. He says "thanks for taking care of my plants, birds, etc" then he starts laughing. He says "those are the healthiest dadgum weeds I've ever seen" apparently I was watering an empty flower bed and he'd planted his marigold seeds in pots..... We had a good laugh.
