Obituary
Clyde David Tate
November 20, 1952 – August 16, 2025
Clyde David Tate, of Sevier County, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, at the age of 72, surrounded by loved ones at the Hospice of Texarkana.
Born November 20, 1952, to Clyde and Ermadell Buffer Tate, David was a proud graduate of Natchitoches High School and went on to enjoy a successful career in sales with General Electric. Known for his dedication, integrity, and easygoing nature, David left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
David found his greatest joy in the great outdoors. A passionate deer hunter and fisherman, he cherished every moment spent among the woods, lakes, and hills of his home. Long country drives were one of his favorite pastimes, especially when he had the chance to take visiting family on a ride to proudly show them the scenic beauty of the place he called home.
He is survived by his sisters, Betty Ann Hopkins of Milpitas, California, and Kathy Tate Davis of Natchitoches, Louisiana; his brother, Glen Tate of Natchitoches, Louisiana; and his beloved nieces and nephews: Janice Marie Scribner and her husband Jonathan, along with their children Tate and Cora; Fran Kister and her husband Jeff; and John Clyde Davis, his wife Kelly, and their daughter Alanna and their two grandchildren. He also leaves behind his faithful pets, Fergie and Boon, who were constant companions.
David was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Tate; his mother, Ermadell Buffer Tate; his brother, Howard Henry Tate; and his grandnephew, Kyle Woodall.
To all who knew him, David was a steady presence — generous with his time, full of stories, and never one to turn down a good conversation or a scenic detour. His memory will be treasured, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11:00 am to 2:00 p.m. at the Spanish Lake Community Center. Friends and loved ones are invited to bring a dish to share as we honor and celebrate David’s life.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tri-State Cremation and Funeral Services.

I had so much fun growing up with David. I was two years older, but he was more of a leader than I. I remember most the old Willis Jeep he had as we explored the woods and back roads of the Placid Oil Fields in Natchitoches out on Black Lake. I also liked swapping stories with him of our life adventures. He was like a brother to me. I will miss him greatly. My love to the family.
