Jerry Turner

Jerry Turner, better known as "Bearbait" was a legend in his own time. He lived and breathed for deer season, deer camp and the camaraderie of the friendship of other deer hunters. He was good at golf and bass fishing. Very competitive. Some folks said he was cold and hard hearted. But, I saw a kind hearted man, that had to keep his guard up, because so many were out to destroy him. I've seen him, vulnerable, and insecure. I saw his hurt, when loved ones set out to hurt him. His pride wouldn't let them see it. But I saw it. He loved to cook on the grill and was very good at it. I never got to taste the brisket,he bragged about, though. He treated me like a Queen. Opened doors for me, protected me to a fault, and doted on me all the time. I could see and feel his love. I always felt safe with him around.

I was his caregiver for awhile! I had a pleasure of knowing him and his wife!
