Obituary
Mary “Tookie” Louise Fant, 80, of Texarkana, Arkansas, was born November 12, 1944, in Garland, Arkansas, and passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Maidwell and Robert Fant; her sisters, Peggy Lafayette and Frances Frost; and her brothers, James and Bud Fant.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Fant; granddaughters, Jeanette Leflett and Ashley Rouw; and five great-grandsons, Jace Leflett, Isaiah Rouw, Jaylen Daniel, Aiden Rouw, and Grayson McGowan. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Affectionately known as “Tookie,” Mary was one of the sweetest, most selfless souls you could ever meet. She never hesitated to lend a hand and had a heart big enough for everyone. She loved watching Charlie's Angels, Hunter, and John Wayne movies, and enjoyed the simple comforts of home and family.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Living Hope United Pentecostal Church, 104 W Beech St, Fouke, AR 71837. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM with the service to follow at 2:00 PM. Cremation will take place afterward.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tri-State Cremation and Funeral Services.
