Obituary
William Michael Carter, 71, of Texarkana, AR, passed away on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024, at his home. He was born on July 29th, 1952, in Texarkana to the late Harold and Rosa Dale Carter. He enjoyed collecting everything, working on building and painting projects, and nurturing his yard by constantly planting new things.
Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents, one step-grandson, Blake Gilbert, and his mother-in-law, Mary Suggs. He is survived by his wife, Kathie Carter, one daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Vernon Sooter of Texas, two step-sons, Robert Gilbert of Ashdown and Chad Gilbert of Glenwood. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Ainsley Trejo of Texas, one sister, Vicki Carter of Texarkana, niece Tonya Allen and her boys, as well as many more family members and friends.
Michael retired from AEP Swepco after 42 years of dedicated service. He was a member of 1BEW and served as secretary for many years. He was also a member of the antique car club, the Four States Auto Museum, and A.L.P.C.A. He had a special fondness for his cats, Patches and Kittens, as well as for feeding his coons.
