Obituary

Elry Wayne Logan, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on April 15, 2025. Born on March 5, 1947 in Nashville, Arkansas, Wayne was a life-long Arkansan and remembered his fellow Scrappers fondly. He worked hard, loved his cars, took great pride in caring for his home, and found joy in the company of his children and grandchildren. 

Wayne was a man of deep generosity, who gave freely to those in need. The last few years of his life were marked in rebuilding relationships by offering and receiving forgiveness. We remember him now for his courage, his humor, and the peace he found at the end of his journey. He taught us that it’s never too late to say, “I’m sorry,” and never too late to be loved. 

Wayne is survived by his son, Tim (Kelly) Day of Texarkana, AR; daughter, Jenny (Kevin) Crow of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Amanda (Adam) Beck of Texarkana, TX; sister, Linda Hickman of Texarkana, TX; sister, Judy Turner of Texarkana, TX; aunt, Rosie Brown of Cove, AR; uncle, Tom Manasco of Cove, AR; and numerous beloved family members including cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 1st at 1:00 pm at Fellowship Bible Church, 1601 Moores Lane, Texarkana, TX 75503.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-State Cremation and Funeral Services.

Cousin Wayne(Big Boy) was an awesome and fun guy. He was very generous and always the first to give. Lots of sweet memories growing up. Will miss him when we visit Arkansas.

I remember Uncle Wayne the most during my childhood years. I remember going to his house and spending the night with Timmy, and his sweet baby girls Mandy and Jenny as his precious daughters and all of us Easter Egg hunting at Grandma Verna’s. Anytime my mom needed help, Wayne was always there “johnny on the spot” to help her. I know she loved her brother dearly although it is been many years since they have seen each other. I will always cherish these memories and the love Uncle Wayne has for his family. We love you! You are waiting on the other side for all of us and sitting beside Jesus!

I’ll always remember me and Wayne working on his bow tie at Adam and Mandy’s wedding. It took a while but we got that thing! Love all of you!
