Eleanor Cavers

Born to Wesley and Jettie Mae Wiseman on November 27, 1940, in Dierks, Arkansas, my mother, fondly known as Ms. Ellie, was a force of nature and a light to all who knew her.

To us, she was larger than life, a nurse of unparalleled dedication and skill. Her passion and compassion shone in every facet of her career, spanning Pediatrics, Neonatal, ICU, NICU, Geriatrics, and more. She even served as Director of Nursing in Bangor, Maine, before retiring from Wadley Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Ellie always opened her home and heart to anyone in need, providing a bed, food, and unconditional support. Countless lives were touched by her kindness—though she was equally famous for her fiery spirit. She could scold you in a New York minute, only to hug you like you were the most precious soul on Earth moments later.

She was wise, strong, and a fighter in every sense of the word. Her grandson, Keith Baby, fittingly nicknamed her “Shera,” after the superhero. Her home was a sanctuary, a place of joy and laughter filled with unforgettable parties and cherished memories. Ms. Ellie had a natural gift for storytelling and comedy, and she adored children. In her eyes, every child was precious, and her house was their playground to run “amok, amok, amok.”  She was the family nucleus.

Before her illness, she was a devoted practicing Jehovah’s Witness and a Pioneer, embodying faith and resilience.

She is survived by her children, Felecia Taylor Garrett (Mickey) and Keith Edward Taylor (Carolyn); her grandchildren, Brandy LaNae’ (Courtney), Yolanda Nichole, Keith Edward II, Jonathan Ryan, Cleopatra Denise, and Kiara Jasmine; and her great-grandchildren, Reagan Elyce, Royce Preston, CeRah Louise, Chloe Corae, Cania Nichole, Candace Denise, Damia Marie, Nova Reign, and Luna Sky.

Rest easy, Mama. We love you and will miss you dearly.
