James Harold Stacks Jr., born on October 27, 1942, to James Harold Stacks Sr. and Geraldine Crane Matthews, passed away on December 4, 2024, in Texarkana, Texas.

James was preceded in death by wife of nearly 50 years, Carol Bellieu Stack; his brother, Baby Weldon Stacks; his father, James Harold Stacks Sr.; his mother, Geraldine Crane Matthews; and his stepfather, Harvey Matthews.

He is survived by his brother, Paul Matthews (wife Mary); his twin daughters, Denise Smith and Karen Stacks; his son, Patrick Shane Stacks; and his cherished grandchildren: Shasta Sanford (husband Zachary), Savanah Teague (fiancé Alex Rains), James Dalton Teague, Makayla Stacks, and Kasey Stacks. His great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Paw-Paw Honey," include Aden Berry, Addelyn Sanford, Bryson Rains, and Alyssa Harrel.

James was an avid outdoorsman who loved duck hunting, fishing, and discussing politics. His love of music shone brightly as he served as the house band leader for several years at The Pines Country Club and volunteered his talents to bring joy to local nursing homes. He was a faithful member of Westside Church of Christ.

In accordance with his wishes, private family services will be held.

James will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and music will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Mr. Stacks was my favorite Adopted Papa. I loved him so. Much. I enjoyed the stories that he use to tell me my all time favorite was the one about him being a blues guitar player and The Town that dreaded sundown. I love you PaPa .🥰😍😘

Jim was a great friend to Bear and myself for over 50 yrs. I know he and bear are playing music together again! He was like a brother to us and will be greatly missed. Love and. Prayers to all!

Such a wonderful man gone too soon. Debbie and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute we were able to spend with Jim and his family over the years. Listening to his stories, sharing time making music, or just sitting around shooting the bull was something Debbie and I sooo looked forward to in years past. Life’s changes made it so we weren’t able to spend as much time on the farm with he and his family as we wanted to, but the past times we did spend making fond memories of Jim and his loving family will last us a lifetime.
