Obituary
George Eldridge Smith was born on July 2, 1944, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Truman Otis and Sarah Elizabeth Smith. In the mid-1950s, he moved to Texarkana where he met his wife, Donna, and became an active member of Buchanan Community Church.
George worked at the Red River Army Depot until his retirement. He passed away on November 5, 2024, after a long illness and was a friend of Bill Wilson for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Donna; his daughter, Mariann Smith; and his bonus sons, Neil and Wade Griffin. George’s memory is also carried on by his grandchildren, Randi and Josh Smith, Jessie Ledbetter, and Jacosa Griffin, along with his great-grandchildren, Ondres Emfinger and Damon Griffin.
