Obituary
Douglas (Doug) Wayne Thompson was born in De Queen, Arkansas, on October 20, 1964. A resident of Horatio, Arkansas, Doug passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, at Little River Nursing Home in Ashdown, Arkansas.
Doug followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, pursuing a career as a painter, which brought him great satisfaction. He had a passion for helping the elderly and often volunteered at local food banks.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Byron Thompson.
Doug is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie Thompson of San Francisco, California, and Ashton Thompson of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is also survived by his mother, Joyce Faye Thompson; two sisters, Jimmy and Dee Allen, and Jeff and Terri Irvan, both of Horatio, Arkansas; one brother, Darrell and Susan Thompson of Ashdown, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a celebration of life to honor Doug at a later date.
