Obituary

Jessie McGraw Jr., a beloved resident of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2026. He was born on January 27, 1953, to Jessie and Pinkie Maxine McGraw. His life was one marked by family, service, and the simple joys that make life meaningful. Those who knew Jessie will remember him for his warm spirit, steadfast character, and the lasting impression he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Jessie proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Marines, he served as a rifleman. After his time in the Marines he served as a cook. There is something special about a person who finds joy in preparing a meal and bringing people together around the table. He also enjoyed fishing and basketball and serving God, taking pleasure in the things that brought him happiness and gave him opportunities to make lasting memories.

As the oldest of twelve siblings, Jessie held a unique and special place within his family. Being part of such a large family meant a lifetime of shared experiences, familiar faces, and memories that would span generations. His place in the family story will always be remembered, and the love and connections shared with those closest to him will continue to be treasured.

Above all, Jessie's greatest legacy is found in the family and loved ones who remain to carry his memory forward. Though saying goodbye is never easy, the memories of his life, the lessons he shared, and the moments spent together will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved him. His absence will surely be felt, but the love he leaves behind will never fade.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Pinkie Maxine McGraw, five younger siblings, and two grandchildren, Elijah and Jeremiah, whom he now joins in eternal rest.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Jessica, Brandy, Jon, and Jeremy; and his beloved grandchildren, Grady, Arianna, Josiah, Azariah, Antonio, Isaiah, and Keziah. They will forever hold close the memories they shared with him and find comfort in knowing that a part of him will always live on through them. He will also be fondly remembered by his extended family, friends, and all whose lives he touched along the way.

Visitation will be held on November 14th, 2026, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Abundance of Life Church, located at 1223 East Avenue A in Hooks, Texas. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the same location.

Though words can never fully express the loss of someone so dear, Jessie's life deserves to be remembered with gratitude, love, and respect. The years he spent with his family, the experiences he shared, and the memories he leaves behind are a lasting reminder of a life that mattered. May those who loved him find comfort in one another and peace in the many memories that will forever keep his spirit close.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tri-State Cremation & Funeral Services.
