Obituary

James Wright, known to everyone as "Jackson," closed his tackle box for the final time on October 4, 2026, at the age of 70. Born in Texarkana on March 3, 1956, Jackson was a proud Texas High School graduate who spent his life happily lost in the wilderness.

As a true, avid outdoorsman, Jackson was most at home under the open sky. Whether he was casting a line on the water, hunting in the woods, or sitting around a roaring campfire, nature was his sanctuary. He brought that same vibrant energy wherever he went as the ultimate life of the party, living loud and laughing easily. Yet, out of all his adventures, his greatest achievement was being one Hell of a dad. He loved his children fiercely, guiding them with a warm heart and a strong spirit.

Jackson is reunited with his beloved life partner, Diane Youngblood, and his parents, Joy and Marlin Wright.

His deep love and legacy live on through his children and their families: Clint Wright and his wife Carla; Kurt Wright and his life partner Heather Jones; and Ethan Forrester and his wife Cari. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jaylin, Kayden, Miranda, Makayla, Jaxon, Kolt, Jacob, Eddie, Gunner, Eli, Everlee, and Tobias, as well as his siblings, Ken, Charlie, and Kerri.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 7, 2026, at the Maud Gun Club (4203 Hwy 67 E, Maud, Texas). Come as you are, bring your best memories, and celebrate a man who loved his family deeply and truly knew how to live.
