Edward Peter Kowzic, Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Born on August 13, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, he held a special place in this world. Most knew Edward as Eddie, many knew him as Grandpa, and three knew him as Daddy.

The son of Edward Peter Kowzic I and Julia Elizabeth Kowzic, Eddie was raised in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. His early life was centered on faith and family. He was the middle child of three, alongside his brothers Jimmy, eldest, and Francis, youngest. He graduated from Wareham High School, the same school his grandchildren would later attend. He was a whiz at math. After high school, he had a short stint in the National Guard. Following his military service, he worked as a chef at Dainty Maid in Buzzards Bay, where he met Alice Maye, a waitress. Eddie and Alice shared 65 beautiful years of marriage and had four children: Jimmy, Helen, Julie, and Stanley. Together, they built a life full of love, faith, and hard work. For many years, they ran Kowzic's Diner in Wareham, Massachusetts. Later, Eddie worked as a pest control specialist for the Kowzic Family Company alongside his wife and son.

Faith was a central pillar in Eddie's life. Throughout his life, he served in many churches as a deacon and Bible study leader. He shared his great passion for his faith with his family. He would ensure every family Sunday dinner was preceded by a prayer of thanks.

He is survived by his daughter Helen Santos; daughter Julie Doane and her husband, Kevin Doane; and son Stanley Kowzic and his wife, Shandi Kowzic. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren: Sarah, Greg, Abigail, James, Eddie, Katherine, Briana, Kason, Kloe, and Maddox, and his ten beautiful great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice; his parents, Edward and Julia Kowzic; his brothers, Jimmy and Francis "Frank"; and his infant son, James "Jimmy" Kowzic.

Eddie was a lifelong chef. He cooked professionally and for his family throughout his life. When Eddie cooked, it was a true work of art and a labor of love. The memory of his famous clam chowder holds a special place in many hearts. Sunday dinner was an important tradition in Eddie's household. Anyone who shared a seat at that table was truly lucky and will cherish those memories.

Those who knew Eddie recognized his quick wit and sarcastic humor. Eddie was a large, warm presence in every room he entered. He could fill the whole room with laughter and the wonderful aroma of whatever he was cooking. Anyone who left his home left with a full belly and a warm smile.

Eddie had a passion for fishing. He was also a model train enthusiast and shared this love with his children and grandchildren.

Eddie's legacy is one of laughter, faith, family, and love.

The family will be holding a private memorial to honor Edward's life.
