Boak Gilmer

Boak Alan Gilmer, age 70 of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 19th.  

Boak was born September 30th, 1955, in Flint, Michigan, son of Phillip Gilmer and Louise Gilmer. Boak graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1973 and joined the Army in 1974. He proudly served his country for four years spending much of his time touring throughout Germany. Once he returned to the states, he made his way south to Texarkana, AR, to start his career as a mechanic.  

Boak enjoyed listening to his album collection, fishing, and bowling. You could also often find him watching old westerns, golf and football with a cold beverage, after a long day of taking care of his lawn.  

Boak will be lovingly and deeply missed by wife Debbie (Patterson) Gilmer and son BJ Gilmer. Siblings: Mart (Winnie) Gilmer, Toni (Jerry DeVries) Perrine, Kelly (Vern) Freer, Paul (Cindy) Gilmer along with many nieces and nephews.  Along with all the friends that he made along the way.  Boak was proceeded in death by both his parents: Phillip and Louise and one sister Gale Goldman. His late wife Bonnie Sue (Smith) Gilmer.
