Edwin “Skip” Ross, age 78, of Texarkana, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas. Born on March 6, 1948, in Texarkana, Arkansas, Skip leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, faith, and service.
Skip proudly served his country as a medic in the United States Navy and later in the Air Force Reserves. A devoted patriot, he loved his country deeply and carried a strong sense of duty throughout his life.
A testament to his dedication and strength, Skip was a member of Grace Church. His faith guided him through life and was reflected in the way he cared for those around him.
For 29 years, Skip worked for SWEPCO, where he built a respected career before retiring. Never one to slow down, he continued serving others as a safety consultant for many years afterward.
Skip had a passion for dancing and loved spending time outdoors. Whether enjoying nature or tending to his yard, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. One of his favorite pastimes was mowing his lawn, a task he took great pride in.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his beloved George and B-B.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; his brother, David Ross and wife; his sister, Dessie Goodrich; his precious cousin, Claudia; his sons, Shawn and Kevin Ross; his daughter, KC Ross; his stepsons, Brian and Greg Latham; his stepdaughter, Vella Latham; 17 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Skip will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his service to his country, his strong work ethic, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.
A Remembrance Service for Skip will be held Saturday, September 12, 2026, 12:00 P.M. At Grace Church 220 Pecan Street, Nash, TX 75569 with Pastors Orville and Robbie Farren officiating.
