Frances Jannette Cook

Frances Janette Cook, 77 of Texarkana, AR, passed away on August 11, 2026.  She was born on April 11, 1949, to the late Archie and Willie V. Calhoun in Beaumont, TX.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 43 years, Larry Cook; three brothers, Hollis, Bud, and Charlie Calhoun; one sister, Janie Long; two stepbrothers, Junior and Roy Calhoun.

She loved her family and cherished all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She liked to spend time with family and friends as well as playing bingo and thrifting in earlier years. Lovingly known as Madea, she always had a quick wit and never left one wondering her thoughts. She was loved by her family and her extended family at Baily Creek Health and Rehab.

Jannette is survived by her three daughters and their spouses; Tammie and Jeff Emerick, Lisa and Michael Miller and Jennifer and Andrew Miller;
Seven grandchildren; Shayelynn Potts (Tanner), Logan Cremeans (Cody), Natalie Miller (Brandon), Ashton Corn (Kayanna), Dustin Emerick, Sydnie Miller, and Nathaniel Clayton (Cheri-Hanna); Seven great grandchildren; two sisters; Ruth Apple and Cathie Johnson. One stepsister, Faye Droemer, multiple nieces and a nephew.

Jannette will be laid to rest alongside her late husband at Huckabee Cemetery in Hope, AR privately, at a later date.
