In Loving Memory of John Allen Kingston 

November 4, 1957 – July 18, 2026 

John Allen Kingston passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his friends and family. 

Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, on November 4, 1957, to George Kingston Sr. and June Wilbourn (Knouse), John was a colorful character and a man of few words. He possessed a quirky sense of humor as well as a rare gift for making people laugh over the silliest things and the most awkward moments. He will be deeply missed, especially by those who received his random GIFs. 

By trade, John was skilled with his hands, spending years doing professional paint and body work. He was an avid gardener who loved tending to his flowers, and a dedicated collector of "things that might be needed one day"—a habit his family will undoubtedly remember with a smile. He was unapologetically stubborn, beautifully spoiled, and famously known for wearing shirts that others might find offensive. He claimed he didn't care for animals, though his soft spot for them proved otherwise to everyone who knew him. Above all, John loved nothing more than playfully irritating his big brother over their differing opinions on various topics, including politics. 

Beneath his rugged, independent exterior was a heart of pure gold. Decades ago, John stepped up to raise his daughters during an era when it was not common for men to be single fathers. His devotion to his family never wavered. He taught his daughters to think for themselves and to gather any information that was needed to make important decisions in life. When living in an empty nest came to be a bit much, he packed up and relocated to Texas for the sole purpose of being closer to the people he loved most. John frequently stated that his greatest accomplishments in life were his children and grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and June; his sister, Janet Schlegel; and his beloved son, John Allen Porter. 

John’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience lives on through his surviving family: his brother, George "Butch" Kingston Jr.; his daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Chris Pierce, and Kimberli and Chris Miller; and his adored grandchildren, Caleb Kingston, Ava Pierce, Colin Pierce, Michele Miller, Owen Lohr, Hunter Miller, and Sadie Miller. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory. 

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
