Obituary

Cathy Lynn Sprayberry Evans, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2026, surrounded by the people she loved. Born on September 13, 1957, Cathy lived a life full of family, friendship, laughter, adventure, and a whole lot of love.

A proud graduate of Texas High School, Class of 1976, Cathy spent many years working as a legal assistant. But her greatest accomplishments in life had nothing to do with a job title. Cathy was a committed wife, loyal mother, playful grandmother, feisty sister, cool aunt, & charismatic friend who had a special way of making the people around her feel important.

Cathy was married to her husband, Donald G. Evans of Foreman, Arkansas, for 28 years. Together, they built a life filled with memories, family, and plenty of adventures. Cathy loved the simple joys of life– playing darts with friends, hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with her two favorite four-legged companions, Petey and Lucy. She never needed anything fancy to have a good time, especially if good friends and good MUSIC was involved!

Surviving are her two children, Sarah Keister (Faulknor) and Wesley Faulknor, grandchildren Malory, Sercy, Dalton, Izabella, Jessie, Lucas, and Lola, and her great-grandchild Randall James (R.J). Sister Kay Brooks, sister in law Susan Sprayberry, a very special friend Jimmie Lynn, along with her many nieces, nephews, Angie, Matt, Jeff, Elizabeth, John, Michael, Shannon, & Lindsey who knew her as Aunt Cathy! Her cousin “Ginny” Virginia Ebert Geiger, extended family, Jessica & Austin Evans and her dear& closest friends!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Velma Sprayberry; her brothers, Mike and Larry Sprayberry; and her sister, Connie Edwards.

Cathy had a way of looking at life that made you want to slow down and appreciate it a little more. After winning her battle with breast cancer 10 years ago, she chose to live her life with gratitude and purpose. She made a point of being present, patient, uplifting and glad in every moment whether 5 minutes or 5 days with her people. She believed showing up mattered.

Cathy was strong willed, outspoken, could make you laugh, make you feel welcome, but remind you to get back up & keep going!! .

Her family and friends will forever treasure her competitive spirit, one of a kind laughter,

Cathy's life may have come to an end, but her example of resilience, no nonsense, and unconditional love will continue to live on in everyone who was lucky enough to have spent anytime with her on “the ride”. Thank you.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date, closer to Cathy's birthday month of September. The family WILL notify loved ones when arrangements are finalized.

Arrangements entrusted to Tri-State Cremation & Funeral Services
