Obituary

Joe David Polk, 73, of Texarkana, departed his earthly home on July 10, 2026, at a local hospital in Texarkana, Texas.

Joe was born on April 29, 1953, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Paul Celton Polk and Hazel Olive Polk.

Joe lived a life full of hard work, laughter, and love for the people around him. As a young man, he traveled internationally working in the oil field before later building a career in HVAC. Whether on the job or at home, Joe was the kind of man who was always willing to lend a hand. He took pride in making sure those around him were taken care of and never hesitated to help someone in need.

An avid crappie fisherman, Joe found some of his greatest peace on the water with a fishing pole in hand. He also loved camping, watching Top Fuel drag racing, playing golf, and listening to classic rock. Wherever he went, Joe’s quick wit and playful sense of humor were never far behind. He loved making people laugh and truly never met a stranger. His warm personality and easy conversation made friends out of everyone he encountered.

Above all else, Joe loved his family. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with those he loved and leaves behind countless memories of laughter, stories, and unwavering kindness.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Celton Polk and Hazel Olive Polk.

He is survived by his sisters, Paula Osteen, Debbie Gross, brother-in-law Terry Gross and Sharon Gerg; his beloved nieces and nephews, Kerri, Christy, Kim, John Paul, Samanthajoe, Stephen, Cassie, and Mandy; along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure the time they shared with him.

Joe will be remembered not only for the work he did or the hobbies he enjoyed, but for the generous heart he carried, the jokes he loved to tell, and the genuine kindness he showed to everyone he met. His absence will be deeply felt, but the memories he created will continue to bring comfort and smiles to all who knew and loved him.

The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time as they celebrate Joe’s life and the lasting impact he made on so many.

Arrangements entrusted to Tri-State Cremation & Funeral Services.
