Sandra Evans

Sandra Jean Evans, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and longtime resident of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026. She was 74 years of age.

Born on November 22, 1951, in Princeton, Kentucky, Sandra was the cherished daughter of William Earle Young and Louise Bell Young. She graduated from Arkansas High School and devoted her career to working as an administrative assistant at Burman Pharr.

Sandra was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Hugh Evans, with whom she shared many joyful years. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Braxten Taylor Pierce Evans, and her brother, William Floyd Young.

She is survived by Her husband of 45 years, Hugh L. Evans ,her sister, Deborah Young Wright of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her two sons, William A. Norris and his wife Lisa, and Jonathan T. Evans of Texarkana; her cousin ,Devanah K. Stevens; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. She is also dearly missed by her special niece, April Stivers, as well as many nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of her life and memorial will take place at a later date.

Sandra’s warmth, kindness, and steadfast dedication to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
