Obituary
Billy Carl Lewis age 77 of Maud, Texas passed away on June 11, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.
Billy Carl was born on November 13, 1948 to Jessie Lee Lewis and Ruth Strickland Lewis. He graduated from Redwater High school, married the love of his life Betty Kight, and joined the Army where he served for 6 years before joining the apprenticeship program with the IBEW local 301 in Texarkana. He went on to become a Master Electrician and retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company. He was a proud mason and member of maud Lodge number 859. He gained many lifelong friends along the way, that still share their Billy Carl stories.
Billy Carl was known by many names, Bill, Billy Carl, B.C., and Daddy but his favorite was Big Daddy, as he was affectionately called by his Grand kids, and all the kids that knew him.
Billy Carl enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and raising chickens. He had a green thumb and loved to share his harvest with family and friends. He passed his love of the outdoors to his kids and grandkids and was delighted in teaching the boys to hunt and fish. Living at the lake, or going to the farm were his Happy Places. He also loved to cook and share meals with family and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Ruth Lewis, his brother in law, John Biscamp and his niece, Traci Biscamp
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Betty Kight Lewis of Maud Texas, with whom he was married for 59 years. His children, Jay Lewis and wife Shannon of Texarkana, Texas, Daughter Pennie Sewell and husband Herman Sewell of Maud, Texas, Grandkids, Cody and Ashley Lewis of Atlanta, Texas and Cory Lewis of Texarkana, Jimmy Holder Jr. of Texarkana, Ar, and Carlee Holder of Maud, Texas, Paige and Raven McAdams of Texarkana, Tx and Lakin and Brittany Wright of Texarkana, Tx Great Grandchildren Lane and Lawson Lewis of Atlanta, Tx and Cove Wright of Texarkana, Texas. His siblings, Jerry Lee Lewis and wife Vicki of Dekalb, Texas, and Jessie Moree (Ree) Biscamp of Omaha, Texas. His lifelong friends, Shelby Grimes and Gary Bill Earnest of Redwater, Texas and Jerry Morton of Dalby Springs, Texas
Cremation will be under the direction of Tri State Cremation and Funeral Services.
A celebration of Billy Carl’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and deep passions, as well as his meaningful contributions to the community. He touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and generosity. Billy C. Lewis leaves behind a lasting impact on all who knew him, and he will dearly be missed.
