Obituary
Betty G. Wharton, beloved resident of Nash, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on March 30, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of the place she knew and loved. Born on September 2, 1938, Betty lived a life marked by faith, love, and steady strength.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, W. A. Wharton; her parents, George and Quinnie Ross; her daughter, LaDessa Andaleen; many siblings; and her great-great-granddaughter, Ulianna Moore.
She leaves behind a family who will treasure her memory always: her children, Ann Ross of DeKalb, Texas, Alvin and Alicia Wharton of Naples, Texas, and Mary and Jeff Wiswall of Maud, Texas; her special grandson, Joe and Renee Crawford of DeKalb, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Known to many as Memaw, Betty held a deep and abiding faith. She was a Baptist who spent her years serving God, and to know her was to know the love of Jesus. Her life was a quiet example of kindness, devotion, and grace, and her family and friends will remember the warmth she shared so freely.
