Donald Pounds

Donald “Duck” Wayne Pounds, 70, of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed away February 2, 2026. Duck was born June 13, 1955, in Ashdown, AR, to Horace Clifton “Nookie” Pounds Sr. and Bernice Eulon Pounds in Ashdown Hospital. He attended the Ashdown Schools, and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for 65 years.

In Duck’s younger years he enjoyed riding horses. He drove a race car and had a 1969 Chevy Camaro that he won and blew a lot of motors in (6). He rebuilt a lot of motors. He was a good mechanic. He also drove an 18-wheeler until 1983. He then had an accident that changed his life and he became the Duck that we knew and loved today.

He also enjoyed dancing throughout his years, and listening to old country music. he'd go to the VFW, until his wife, Jackie, passed away in 2008. He also enjoyed, playing Bingo, Dominos, Checkers, Chess, and card games. He loved all of his grandchildren and would look forword to taking his daughter shopping for his grandchildren for Christmas, He also cut firewood for people and enjoyed helping others. If you needed a ride to or from it didn't matter just name the time or place and he would be there. He didn’t ever use GPS or Google Maps. He would do what he could to help others. He was dependable and a good person. Over all he was a Jack of all trades.

In Duck's later years, he loved watching old westerns and loved his game shows. He would always have a story to tell, even if he's said it time and time again. Or something funny or a funny comment. He kept his humor till the end. He would always introduce himself as Duck Pounds from Ashdown. His memories will be cherished. He will be loved and missed.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Lewis and Bernice Ford, Frank and Lola Pounds; two brothers, Curtis Martin Pounds and David Alan Hank Pounds; wife, Jackie Marie Pounds; and his first wife, Trina Lynn Pounds.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Bernice Eulon Musgrove; one daughter, Devin Pounds; four grandchildren, Raven Pounds, Zoey Pounds Whitaker, Shelby Pounds, and Jace Pounds; one brother, Clifton Pounds Jr. (Angelena); Shari Stewart (Jimmy); Peggy Sue Bearden; and numerous nieces and nephews and Great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, starting at 6 PM, at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR. Memorial service will follow at 7 PM.
Graveside Services will be at a later time.
