Melba McCleland 70, of Idabel OK, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, in Texarkana, TX. She was born in Fresno, CA to Oscar and Winnie Bond McCleland on November 23, 1955.
Melba was proceeded in death by her parents, five sisters, Evelyn Powel, Mary Craighead, Sharon Fernside, Doris Lindsay, and Margaret Collins, four brothers Hank, Wayne, Roger, and Gary McCleland.
She is survived by three children, Brandon Cheatham and his wife Angela of Lincoln, Marshall Yates of Fayetteville and Lyndsey Lamproe and her husband Chris of Lincoln; two sisters, Betty Heffner and her husband James of Cincinnati Ark. Linda McCleland of Mountain Home, AR, one brother, James McCleland and wife Darlene of Prairie Grove, AR; three grandchildren, Bella Cheatham, Gavin Lamproe and Ella Lamproe, and a very special brother-in-law, Mike Collins and family of Idabel OK.
Melba loved being outdoors and found great joy in gardening, tending to her flowers and spending time surrounded by nature and her family. Those who knew and loved her are finding great comfort that she is now spending time in heaven with her siblings, tending to the biggest and most beautiful garden of all.
No funeral services have been planned, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. type and save
