Rana Marie Chattaway, age 79, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in Texarkana. She was born on August 27, 1946, in Franklin, New Jersey.
Rana was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Finigan and Josephine Wincek; her beloved husband of 58 years, Ed Chattaway; her daughter, Alicia Chattaway; her brother, Wilbur Finigan and her sisters, Darla Chattaway, and Josephine Pollard.
Rana was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered on family, hard work, and perseverance. She attended Sussex High School in New Jersey before making Texarkana her home. After managing Holiday Bowl for many years, she became a longtime business owner in Texarkana, proudly owning Tri-State Filters. Through her work, she built lasting relationships and earned the respect of those who knew her.
Family was the heart of Rana’s life. She is survived by her children, Sondra and Chuck Routier, Dawn and Wesley Meredith, and Ed and Kellie Chattaway. She leaves behind a cherished legacy through her grandchildren, Charles and Kristin Routier, Amanda and John Burden, Jennifer Routier, Mark Meredith, Austin and Loni Meredith, Brady and Sasha Chattaway, Makenley Chattaway, Kaylee Chattaway, and Gracelynn Chattaway, as well as sixteen great grandchildren who brought her great joy.
Rana is also survived by her siblings, Tom and Paulette Finnigan.
Rana will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence was steady and comforting, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured by all who were blessed to know her.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 18th at Highland Park Baptist Church.
