Obituary

Jimmy Don Carroll, 71, passed away on December 31, 2025, at Hospice of Texarkana in Texarkana, Texas. Jimmy was born January 8, 1954, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to William Arthur and Fannie Sue Askew Carroll.

On September 23, 2009, he married Shannon Roach in Texarkana, Arkansas. Jimmy was employed at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company for 25 years and was a member of Siloam Baptist Church in Simms, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandra Sue Carroll Grammer; two brothers, Arthur Wayne Carroll and Charles Dale Carroll; and his wife, Joanie Carroll.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Shannon Carroll of Bassett, Texas; two daughters, Rebekah Carroll of Fresno, California, and Chasity Mitchell of De Kalb, Texas; one brother and two sisters in law, Joe and Linda Carroll of Mosier, Oregon, and Mary Carroll of Collinsville, Oklahoma; one special nephew and niece in law, Stacy and Ruth Grammer of Texarkana, Arkansas; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his beloved dog, Bailey; and numerous other relatives.

Memorial will be held on April 4th at Sandhill Cemetery at 11:30 am, 2156 FM 561 Simms TX, 75574 officiated by Bro. Curtis Peters.

Food will be served at Crossroads Center following service. 3436 FM 561 Simms TX 75574.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Texarkana, 2407 Galleria Oaks Drive, Texarkana, Texas 75503.

Shannon, my deepest sympathies for you and the family during this time. RIP brother. I will always remember how we would talk to each other and cut up. I love you and know deep down I told you to “get out of that chair we got stuff to do and people to see” this making you laugh so hard your belly would hurt. I’m sad you are here but I know we will meet again one day.
