Earl Hughes, aged 79, of Jefferson, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at 9:55 AM at his residence under the loving care of Dierkson Hospice. Born on February 26, 1946, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, Earl was the devoted son of Reed Levi Hughes and Ester Naomi Graham.
Earl dedicated much of his life working as a truck driver. He was a hardworking man who cherished his family and community. At the time of his passing, Earl was a widower and is remembered fondly by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Billy Joe Patterson and R.L. Hughes, sister Maxine Graham, and late spouse Martha Patterson.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Ruthie Young and Christal Rose, brother James M. Hughes, three grandchildren Jacob, Lyda, and Jason Young, 2 great grands.
Earl’s memory will be held dear in the hearts of those who loved him.
