Dora F Roy, Age 87, Left this world to be with the Lord on November 8, 2025.
Dora was born in Bearden, Arkansas at home on February 18, 1938. To her parents, Chester and Amie Coleman. She was the youngest of 5 girls and had 3 younger brothers. Dora was a member of the first graduating class of the newly unified school of Liberty Eylau in 1956.
After graduation she enlisted in the US Women's Army Corp and after basic was assigned to the Virginia Beach VA area at FT Eustis. After her enlistment, she returned home to Texarkana and began work at Red River Army Depot..
She was married in 1966 and began a life as a military spouse over the next 26 years traveling the world in support of her husband and the military. After retirement and life events, she worked at The Discovery Place Museum in Texarkana for many years and then Walgreens Pharmacy in the beauty department, until her retirement years later.
Dora is Preceded in Death by a Daughter, Vickey McGuire who died in 2012. Also by her mother and father, 4 older sisters, Margaret, Betty, Threada and Mary, as well as 3 younger brothers, Sonny, Wayne and Cookie Coleman.
She is survived by a Son, William E Roy JR (Bill) of Texarkana TX ,2 Grandsons Johnathan Roy and Joshua Roy, 3 Granddaughters Rebecca Lynn Roy, Amy Gail McGuire, and Lisa Marie Merritt, as well over a dozen Great Grandkids.
A Celebration of her life will be held at a later time in order to make sure family from out of state can attend.
