Obituary

Kevin age 65, of Simms, Texas passed away Saturday September 20, 2025 at his home in Simms, Texas surrounded by his loving family. Born March 30, 1960 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Kevin lived a life defined by hard work, deep family ties and an unwavering cowboy spirit.

A proud veteran of the United States Army and a man of Christian faith, Kevin brought strength and dedication to every role he held throughout his life. He was a certified welder and mechanic who applied his skills across various professions. His careers included time as a truck driver and a ranch Hand at C-C and MTG. He also played a vital role in the rodeo life working for Burt Payne and Jerry Joe Crawford. Work that reflected his lifelong connection to the cowboy way of life.

Kevin’s legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Kimberly Dawn Warren of Simms, TX. Daughter Kayla and husband Doyle Allen of Simms, TX and Krista Moilanen and fiancé Daniel Capps of Simms, TX. He was a devoted Papaw to his grandchildren: MaCayla and husband Caleb Engledowl of Fouke, Ark. Kassidy McCarra; Joshua McCarra; Lane Moilanen; Tyler Moilanen; Grady Moilanen; Bo Moilanen- all of Simms, TX. His great-granddaughter Luna Engledowl, who all brought tremendous joy to his life.

He is also remembered by his In-Laws Wayne and Joann Warren of Simms, TX; brothers Opie Lemons and Lee Lemons of Horatio, Ark; brother-in-law Kevin Warren and wife Cindy of Simms, TX; brother-in-law Gary Jones; along with his best friends Allen Jegstrup many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were touched by his humor, kindness and grit.

Kevin was proceeded in death by his parents Clista Noreen Lowry and Lee Edward Lemons of Horatio, Ark; sister Chinna Jones of Locksburg, Ark and nephew Riley Warren of Texarkana, TX.

Known for being funny yet stubborn, tough yet kind -Kevin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend- and above all else- cowboy through and through. His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

May his memory bring comfort for those who loved him.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date in March.
