Zonnie Mangum, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2024, at her home in Texarkana, Arkansas, surrounded by her family. Born on May 6th, 1946, Zonnie was the daughter of James and Hazel Rateliff.
Zonnie's life was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was married to her devoted husband, Sidney Mangum, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, weathering life's joys and challenges hand in hand.
Zonnie was a devoted mother to her children, William John and his wife Connie Williams, Clifford and his wife Teena Mangum, and Alicia Soderling. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Williams, and her son, James Williams as well as three grandchildren Tesla Mangum, Justin Mangum, and Carlton Lake Works. One great grandchild Haisleigh Mangum as well as her parents James and Hazel Rateliff, one brother Edward Rateliff and four sisters Louise, Vonclle, Carolyn, and Diana. Zonnie's nurturing spirit and boundless love enriched the lives of her children, instilling in them values of kindness, resilience, and strength.
In addition to her husband and children, Zonnie is survived by her brother, Walter Ray Rateliff Sr., and sisters Barbara, Patricia, Maedean, and Bonnie. Zonnie's legacy of love and family will live on through her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Zonnie was a pillar of strength and a source of comfort for her family and friends. Her warm smile, gentle spirit, and endless capacity for love touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
As we mourn the loss of Zonnie Mangum, let us also celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the profound impact she had on those around her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service to honor and remember Zonnie Mangum will be held on Friday April 26th at Shiloh Baptist Church on hwy 82 in Texarkana Arkansas.
