Shannon Daley

Shannon Houston Daley, age 55, died of cancer on August 21, 2014 at home surrounded by her

family. She was born Dec. 20, 1968 in Texarkana, Texas, and graduated from Daingerfield High

School in 1986. She married and moved to San Diego, California in 1996 where she proudly

served as a board member of Mira Mesa Girls Softball and as a dedicated member of the PTA

for many years, receiving both the PTA’s Honorary Service Award and the PTA’s Golden Oak

Service Award. She worked over 20 years in the school health offices at many schools in San

Diego, California, and at Liberty Eylau ISD in Texarkana, Texas, and in the classroom at Atlanta

Middle School in Atlanta, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother Debi Houston. She

leaves behind her father James Houston of New Boston, her daughter Gwendolyn Daley Hall

and son-in-law Zachary Hall of Cedar City, Utah, and her ex-husband John Daley of Los

Angeles County, California. Per her request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers,

donations may be made in her name to PrimeCare Hospice.
