Linda O’Neal Kinard

August 14, 1948 — July 8, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda O’Neal Kinard, recently of Texarkana, TX. She was the youngest daughter of Thelma (O’Neal) White, born and raised in Temple, OK. Upon her marriage to Curtiss Kinard, she made her home in Mississippi, living the majority of their married years in Brooksville.

 

Linda O’Neal Kinard is survived by her daughters, Vikki Kinard Bruce (Benjy Bruce) and Stacy Kinard Combs (Russell Combs). She leaves behind grandchildren: Lacey McCreery (Chris McCreery), Cole Bruce (Shawntel Bruce), James Bruce, Larissa Tousley (David Austin Tousley), Chloe Bruce, Mary Elisabeth Combs, Nathaniel Combs, and Margaret Combs; and great-grandchildren: Kynnadi McCreery, Bryson Bruce, Braxton Bruce, Haigen Bruce, Kenzley Bruce, and Theo Tousley.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Thelma White; brothers, Charles O’Neal and Merle (Red) O’Neal; sister, Myrtle (Betty) Barnes; brother-in-law, O.L. Barnes; and her one true love, her husband Curtiss Kinard.

 

Linda graduated from Temple High School in 1966. She and Curtiss were soon married, and she supported him during his time in the military. Upon his discharge from service, they resided in Columbus, Mississippi, where she was employed at United Technology until her retirement in 1998. She and Curtiss enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

 

Linda will be buried at Bevil Hill Cemetery in Winston County, Mississippi, next to Curtiss during a small immediate family-only service.

 

Honorary pallbearers are Benjy Bruce, Russell Combs, Cole Bruce, Nate Combs, David Austin Tousley, and Chris McCreery.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local animal shelter in her name.

 

The family would like to thank Chambers Hospice for their outstanding care provided during Linda’s final days.
