Johnny Newton “Newt” Clopp, 70 of Texarkana, Arkansas left his earthy home to claim his heavenly home on Saturday, June 3, 2023, surrounded by his wife, children, and sister-in-law. A celebration of life will be held at Faith Assembly of God Church at 2001 Arkansas Blvd, Texarkana, AR at 10:00 a.m. on June 19, 2023. Newt was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on July 17, 1952 to Paul and Billie (Kay) Clopp. He married the love of his life Robin Taylor Clopp on March 24, 1973. Newt and Robin have a son Chad Newton Clopp,(Heather) of Texarkana, Texas, a daughter, Alison Morris( Kevin) of Mustang, Oklahoma, grandson Logen Newton Clopp and granddaughter Preslie Grace Clopp of Texarkana, Texas. Newt moved Robin 31 times during their 50 years of marriage. He had a successful career that began as a route man for Rainbow Bread in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He then became a salesman, bakery manager and Vice President of Meyer’s Bakery working at various bakeries in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Corpus Christi, Texas, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Topeka and Wichita, Kansas, Yukon, Oklahoma, Phoenix, Arizona, Hope, Arkansas, and Atlanta, Georgia eventually taking he and Robin back to Skiatook, Oklahoma and then back to Texarkana, Arkansas. The second move to Texarkana brought him back to be near his grandchildren, Logen and Preslie. Where he enjoyed attending soccer, football and softball games cheering them on. Newt was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church, Texarkana, Arkansas where he played the trumpet, taught a Sunday School Class, and Lead Bible Study. Newt was proceeded in death by his father and mother, Paul and Billie Clopp, brothers Ronald and Jerry Clopp and father and mother-in-law Vernon and Charlotte Taylor. He is survived by his wife and children, his sister Debbie Pryce of Inola, Oklahoma and numerous other family members. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Faith Assembly of God Church (Food Pantry) 2001 Arkansas Blvd, Texarkana, AR 71854 or Dierksen Hospice at 461 Parkway Drive, Texarkana, AR 71854.
