John Hirzel

John Christian Hirzel, 62, of Queen City, Texas, passed away on Monday March 13, 2023 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Victoria Hirzel. He is survived by his loving wife Linda of thirty-eight years; John and Grace Hirzel his son and daughter in-law of Texarkana, Arkansas; Stephanie his daughter of Texarkana, Texas; his five grandchildren Lydia, John, Dakota, Jaxton Hirzel, and baby on the way; his brothers Richard Hirzel of Big Springs, Texas; Bill Hirzel of El Paso, Texas; and Kathy Gilmore his sister of Rowlett, Texas. John was born June 6th,1960 in McAllen, Texas. He dedicated his life to Law Enforcement with the Bureau of Prisons. He started his career at FCI Latuna on May 31 st , 1983, as a Senior Correctional Office. Over the next 31 years he worked his way up to Associate Warden and retired on December 31, 2013, at FCI Bastrop. His most precious times in life was time spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed having get togethers, cooking, riding his Harley, and telling stories about his life. John’s Family will host a celebration of Life on Saturday April 15th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
