Gary Kvarda

Gary E. Kvarda September 6, 1947 – September 24, 2023 Gary Edward Kvarda, 76, of Texarkana, Texas passed away September 24, 2023 peacefully in Texarkana after a lengthy battle with dementia. Gary was born on September 6, 1947 to Godfrey and Dorothy “Ginger” Kvarda in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a retired truck driver and school bus driver. Gary loved to fish and hunt, bowling in league, farm and “tinkering” around. He had a very tough exterior and was difficult to love but deep down he had a good, soft heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Godfrey and Ginger, and two former wives, Sandra Gasho and Barbara Tyler. He is survived by his two sons and one daughter: Eric Kvarda of Texarkana, TX, Kenneth Kvarda and wife Malinda of Texarkana, TX, and Rebecca “Becki” Kvarda of Nash, TX. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Autumn and husband Joe McDowell, Coby Lacefield, Makenzie Kvarda, Olivia Kvarda, Elisabeth Kvarda, Sydney Kvarda, Remi Kvarda and Coraline Looney; two great-grandchildren: Deacon and Naomi; special friends: Sammy Lee, Carla Curry and Andres Izquierdo and numerous close friends. A celebration of life event will be held October 14, 2023 at Lake Wright Patman with the time to be decided.
