David Thomas Ripley, age 77, of Doddridge, Arkansas passed away on 4/6/2023 @ 12:14 a.m. in the comfort of his own home. David was born in Peoria, Illinois to Tom and Cecelia Ripley 0n 6/28/1945. David is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Altenbaumer and her husband Foster, and a special nephew Randy Altenbaumer that was like his brother. David, also Known as Sonny or Rip to many, was a kind and down to earth guy always willing to lend a hand. Prior to moving to Doddridge, Arkansas he lived on the Cossatot river for 33 years where he met his best friend Jim Smith. David started out working for the Circus, then later moving on to run cranes for Brown and Root, and eventually moving on to start in the construction business installing septic tanks and moving dirt and founding Clearwater Pools. He owned that business for 40 years providing excellent service to many clients. In his younger years you could find him at his favorite hangout, Herbs, hanging with friends and waiting on a race. Also in younger years he loved to hunt raccoons, selling the hides to make a buck. He loved riding motorcycles and fishing for bass. He also loved his trips with his wife out to New Mexico exploring caves and camping with friends. David is survived by his wife of 35 years Bobbie Ripley, his sister Arlene (Fern) Eakens husband Bob. His 5 kids Donna Ripley Cornelius, Jon Ripley and wife Anesha Ripley, Cindy Capps, Lance Koiner, Norman Richart. His Nieces Ronda Arnold, Laura Springer, Ginger Emrich, Laura Eakens, Nephew Chris Eakens. His grandchildren Candace Ripley, Chris Newton, Dyaln Cornelius, Dalton Dalrymple, Joshua Ripley, Madlin Ripley, Ashley Capps, Corey Capps. He had 10 Great Grand kids and a number of great nieces and nephews. He will be missed and remembered by many. A memorial will be held for David at Ashdown Holiness Church on April 15, 2023 at 11 AM.
