Darrell William Holland

Darrell William Holland of Texarkana, AR, passed away on August 3, 2024, in Ashdown, AR, at the age of 73. He was born in Shirley Township (Doniphan), MO, on June 16, 1951.  He was a hard worker, starting out assisting his dad at their family-owned lumber mill and eventually making a living as a railroad welder. He retired in 2013 from Union Pacific Railroad after an over 30-year career.  His life is marked by a dedication to his family--having cared for both of his parents in their last years--and a devotion to God.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Rex Holland and Bonnie Mae (Robbins) Holland of Doniphan, MO, and a brother, Elige Clayton Holland.

Darrell is survived by a son, Keith (JoEllen) Holland of Bessemer, AL, and two daughters, Shelley (Kris) Bocox of Texarkana, AR and Sarah Holland of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by his siblings: Reta (Richard) Green of Davis, CA; Wendell (Jane) Holland of Flintstone, GA; Lial (Martha) Holland of Doniphan, MO; Sherrill (Wally) Colvin of Sacramento, CA; Vol (Linda) Holland of Edgar Springs, MO. He had ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews at the time of his passing. 

Darrell was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, where he found solace and community throughout his life. He will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, steadfast faith, and unwavering love for his family. Darrell's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
